A Nigerian soldier who survived the deadly attack on a military base in the northern part of Borno State on Monday said they suffered a heavy casualty due to lack of adequate weapons. He said at least 70 soldiers died in the attack and their bodies are yet to be evacuated. The attack happened on Monday evening at Metele village in Guzamala local government area of the state.

How Metele was attacked—
Boko Haram allegedly issued a threat letter last Friday that it would soon take over four strategic military locations around the Lake Chad region.

The attack came at about 6pm on Monday evening”, said the soldier. “When the soldier on top of the observation post alerted that a large number of Boko Haram fighters were advancing, we all got alarmed as we took cover and waited within the base in Metele. “The fight did not last for more than 45 minutes; but it was bloody because the Boko Haram fighters had more armament advantage than the soldiers. “When we realised the fight would be against us, we decided to retreat from the camp, but it was rather too late. The camp was surrounded with barbed wire, and the enemy fire was coming from the direction of the entrance. We were like surrounded. One of the drivers of the gun trucks decided to push through the barbed wire so that other vehicles could follow and escape, but the truck got stuck, that was how many of our soldiers in other vehicles and those on foot were massacred.

May the souls of these fallen Heroes RIP?

A UK-Based Nigerian, Agu Chigekwu, identified on Instagram as richjoelng, recently called out popular Nigerian Pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje, for failing to pray for members of the congregation at a recent event in London.

Chigekwu stated that he attended the event expecting to see Odumeje perform miracles and pray.

He said he was, however, left disappointed after Odumeje only sang and then left without praying for anyone.

He said, “When he came, he was already advertising powers, abidoshaker , citadel, he will release powers and the one he has not touched. Na so people take come o, filled the place . People came out!”

He explained that the programme was scheduled to start at 5:30pm, but Odumeje did not arrive until 10:30 pm and. When he finally came, he started singing, and the audience thought he would begin praying afterward.

” He dey sing o, as he finish singing, people kon think say he go pray, before we knew it, Odumeje don disappear ,” he added.

Chigekwu questioned whether Odumeje was a pastor or an artiste, stating that people came from all over the UK with their sick loved ones in hopes of receiving healing prayers from Odumeje.

He added, ” Odumeje na pastor abi na artist? Is he a performer? So, na performance he come do for us all the way from Nigeria. No be even to pray for people.

“People came all the way from Scotland, Wales, different parts of UK. Some came with their sick ones, old women, for him to pray for healing. Na so Odumeje take do this thing; he no pray for anybody.”

He also stated that some people even paid for front-row seats specifically to get prayed for by Odumeje.

“This guy disappointed me. Thank God, I did not even buy that ticket. People paid £1,000, £500, to stay at the front seat because they needed healing.

“They think say after he don sing, he go pray. Make dem see the powers that this man carry . All those citadel, indaboski bahose , and all those kind of things ,” he added.

In a separate video, Chigekwu clarified that he did not intend to criticise Odumeje but rather wanted to raise concerns about the event.

He said the promoters did not properly inform attendees about the purpose of the event, and he only learned later that Odumeje was actually there for an album launch.

DNA SAGA: Actor Yomi Fabiyi Writes Mohbad’s Widow; Wumi Aloba

Dear Wunmi,

A DNA CAN BE REQUESTED BY MOHBAD’S FAMILY

I share in your family’s pain in the loss of Mohbad. May God forgive his sins. I am writing you based on the prolonged arguments on the issue of DNA concerning Mohbad’s son and ongoing investigation into the actual cause of his death.

The following reasons are why you can be compelled for a DNA TEST by Mohbad’s family:

i) From the look of things, Mohbad’s death is tilting towards “HOMCIDE” owing to events that happened in the last 48 hours before the singer d1ed. The coroner inquest is an investigation and needs closure before charges.

ii) In a saner cline, those around the deceased, those who tampered with the active crime scenes, are SUSPECTS and should have been taken in for questioning, which include you.

iii) If there is evidence/accusation of infidelity around the time of conception against you or re-occuring domstic violnce (and no clear reasons for conflicts), chances are the cause is due to paternity Only a DNA test can vindicate you, dear. It’s your advantage.

iv) if Liam will inherit the late singer’s estate and the likely cause of his muder is within the house, the family as a legally interested party can ask you honourably or through the court to conduct a DNA before you can be allowed custodian of their son’s properties on behalf of LIAM, etc. Moreso, the DNA will help investigators narrow their drag nets. NO ONE SHOULD OBSTRUCT POLICE or CORONER’S INVESTIGATION.

v) Mohbad, in an unverified audio released, equally accused you of wanting to kll him. No one knows if it is the normal couples’ fight or if it was due to any other sensitive issue.

vi) Anything that will bring clarity, absolve you of any wrongdoing, erase suspicion around you, get justice for Mohbad should interest you, including a DNA TEST.

vii) Your continued back and forth is an attempt to infuriate members of the public and pitch irrates youths against the Police and government. No sooner, people will conclude that someone powerful is shielding you. And that person can’t be more powerful than a determined masses.
