Bayelsa guber: You are yet to congratulate Dickson – Ben Bruce reminds Buhari
The Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Ben Bruce has reminded President Muhammadu Buhari to congratulate Seriake Dickson for emerging victorious at the just concluded Bayelsa State governorship election polls.
Bruce, who took to his Twitter handle, @benmurraybruce to remind the President to do the needful said: “Is it that President @Mbuhari is yet to hear that Gov @iamHSDickson was reelected? I’m rather surprised at his failure to congratulate him.”
Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled 134,988 votes to floor his main challenger, and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Timipire Sylva, who polled 86,852 votes.
A total of 232,167 votes were cast in the election, out of which 6,647 votes were rejected as invalid.

The Presidential Candidate of our Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi has demanded from the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to the President, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the retraction of his wild allegation, linking him as behind the planned mass protest being planned for August.
Obi, writing through his counsel, Chief Alex Ejesieme, SAN of the MADIBA Chambers, said that the allegation which was widely published in social and mainstream media and read by many within and outside the country maligned his hard-earned reputation as a man who indulges in violence when all his antecedents are vivid that he abhors violence even in the face of extreme provocation.
