“Stop Threatening The Unity and Peace Of Nigeria” – Yakasai to Edwin Clark

An elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, on Thursday, cautioned a fellow elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, against issuing threats when discussing national issue.

Yakasai cautioned Clark in a statement recently statement that has since going viral

Recall this newspaper had reported that Clark threatened that Nigeria risks disintegration should power stay in the north in 2023.

Reacting, Yakasai said, “I wish to comment on a statement, credited to my good friend, Chief E.K. Clark and published in the media concerning the part of the country that should produce our President in the coming presidential election in 2023.

“My comment is predicated on the interview granted by one of my old friends, Chief Edwin Clark. The part of the statement that incurred my displeasure is where Chief Clark issued a veiled threat on the issue of unity and peaceful coexistence affecting different communities living together in our country.

“Chief Clark is not the only elder statesman that issues such threats on unity and peaceful coexistence in our country. There is another elder statesman, who is also a friend of mine and who is fond of resorting to threats when discussing national issues.

“I think at our age, we should avoid resorting to threats whenever we are discussing national issues. What is expected of people at our age is to provide leadership by way of offering advice and correcting any mistake we discovered made by younger Nigerians in the course of national discourse.”

I Was Expelled From School Because Of Fela Kuti – Movie Director, Andy Boyo

Renowned movie director and patron of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Andy Boyo, has shared how he was expelled from school because of the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Fela, a Nigerian artist and political advocate, passed away in Lagos, Nigeria, in 1997 at 58

Fela is seen as the main creator of Afrobeat, a Nigerian music style that mixes West African rhythms with American funk and jazz.

Boyo, however, is preparing to bring the iconic life of the Afrobeats legend to the silver screen in a much-awaited biographical film.

After three years of planning, Boyo has obtained the rights to the music and is ready to begin filming in Nigeria, the UK, and the US in 2025.

Rumours suggest the high-profile movie will have an extensive cast, including 27 actresses portraying Fela’s wives.

Boyo, recognized for his successful films such as “Untamed” and “Spirit of Assassins,” will also direct, write, and produce the biographical film.
