Nigerian Catholic Monks Develop ”CVD PLUS” for The Treatment of Coronavirus

Yesterday, 29th April 2020, the official page of the Pax Herbal Clinic and Research Laboratories, Edo State, Nigeria released an official statement signed by Fr Anslem Adodo OSB on Facebook

He further stated that a new drug called the “CVD PLUS” solely for the treatment of the Coronavirus has been developed. The constituents are antiviral and immunomodulatory agents which help to stimulate antibodies.

An excerpt from the report states that the Pax CVD PLUS contains herbs and active phytoconstituents with documented scientific evidence based on clinical reports of their efficacy and safety.

Fr. Anslem expressed gratitude to the Head of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development, Professor Tunde Salako and the Director-General of NAFDAC, Professor Catherine Adeyeye for the interest, support and encouragement in the course of the research.

The research is a joint effort of experts from two notable Federal Universities—the University of Lagos and the University of Benin, a tertiary health institution—Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Edo State and experts sent by Prof. Tunde Salako and Prof. Catherine Adeyeye.

Fr. Anselm assured the public that NAFDAC is ready to speed up approval of the CVD Plus and while that is ongoing, other approved products such as the Pax Herbal Bitters, Pax Herbal Bitter Tea and Pax Herbal Health Tea could be used to manage symptoms of the Coronavirus.
